Yu Hibari’s romantic comedy is about a boy who discovers that his childhood friend is actually a girl.
The livestream “Sneaker Bunko 35th Anniversary Festival!” made a special announcement on Sunday that Yu Hibari and illustrator Tenkō-saki no Seiso Karen na Bishōjo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi Datta Siso’s Ken (The Beautiful and Neat Girl at My New School Is My Childhood Friend Who I Thought Was a Boy) and I Played Together With) is also being adapted into an anime. Siso and manga adaptation artist Kina Ōyama both illustrated the announcement.

The youth romantic comedy revolves around Hayato, who transfers to a high school in the city. There, he meets Haruki again, whom Hayato remembers as a boy he used to play with seven years ago. Only Hayato has now realized that Haruki is actually a girl.
Hibari launched the original light novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (“Let’s Be a Novelist”) website in 2020. Kadokawa began publishing the series with illustrations by Siso in 2021. Kadokawa published the second volume. six of the light novels in December 2022.
Ōyama launched the manga adaptation on Comic Walker as part of Kadokawa’s “Dora Dora Flat” website in 2021. Kadokawa published the third compilation book of the manga on April 7.
