Re:Zero Part 3 Review episode 6: Another episode from Re:Zero Season 3 or Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活 (Ri:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) took us on an intense ride. Let's see how this episode plays out.
Re:Zero Part 3 Summary of episode 5
This episode opens with Emilia finding herself in an unfamiliar landscape, where she is suddenly confronted by Regulus with a profound question. Archbishop Greed of Sin, in an outburst of anger, demands to know whether she is a virgin or not. She startled and confusedly confirmed, only for Regulus to declare her his 79th wife on the spot, regardless of her feelings or consent. Shockingly, in this world, this is not the most dire outcome a character could face.
Meanwhile, Subaru is fighting his own emotions as he restrains himself from attacking Lye, the Sin of Gluttony Archbishop responsible for Rem's tragic state. Subaru knew he couldn't let himself be distracted and had to prioritize Capella, who posed a more immediate threat. He teams up with Crusch to face her, only to encounter a grieving hostage trapped in the crossfire. True to form, the story spares Subaru none of its cruelty.
This episode once again highlights the unrelenting brutality of the series, where human lives have no value in the eyes of the ruthless villains. Capella is especially cruel, inflicting psychological torment by transforming himself into his victims' relatives before taunting them. Her blood, with its ability to transform others into various creatures, serves as a powerful weapon in her hands, used only to cause suffering.
Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 6 Review
The episode begins with a delirious Subaru who doesn't know what's going on around him. He was swept away in a great flood when the gates of Priestella were opened. Not only that, he also lost half of his leg and was in extreme pain, drowning in the water. When he regained consciousness, the first thing he saw was Priscilla and Liliana's faces. From them, he learned that the floodgates were indeed opened but quickly closed after a while.
However, the leg that Subaru miraculously lost is still there, back in a very strange and deformed state. It was apparently affected by the curse Capella placed on him, which also caused his leg to heal on its own. The entire situation in the city is much worse, as we see everyone affected by the negative emotions of the Wrathful Archbishop. Thankfully, Liliana was able to calm them down with her beautiful voice.
On the other hand, we also see the difficult situation of Emilia, who is imprisoned by Regulus. She understood she was in deep trouble, and that was why, she planned to agree to Regulus's idea of marriage for the time being. She also noticed how cruel and crazy Regulus was. He does not care about his wife but only takes her to subjugate and torture them. At the slightest inconvenience, he will throw away his wives as if they were nothing more than replaceable assets.
Emilia tries to instill some dignity in his wife. 184. But the brainwashing was so intense, and she was probably so afraid of him that any kind of logic didn't go through her head.
Verdict
I liked today's episode because we talked more about Subaru's personality in the second half. He truly became a knight by heart and his determination showed it. Just because he is Emilia's knight, doesn't mean Emilia is the only person he wants to save. As a knight, he does not want to sacrifice anyone else and wishes to protect people who do not deserve to be in this troublesome situation.
