HIDIVE revealed on Wednesday that it will air the anime Ninja Scroll (Jūbei Ninpūchō) in Japanese with English subtitles and the original English dub on November 12 at 12pm. EDT.
HIDIVE describes the story:
When Jubei saves a young female ninja from the unthinkable, he thinks it's all over. To his surprise, it was just the beginning. Together, the two investigate the mysterious deaths of an entire village and uncover a plot of demonic proportions! Getting closer to the truth, evil forces will stop at nothing to silence Jubei and his companion forever!
Iconic Events released and Anime Expo screened Ninja Scroll to celebrate its 30th anniversary in US theaters in September for AX Movie Night.
Yoshiaki Kawajiri not only directed the Ninja Scroll movie at Studio Madhouse but he also wrote the script and designed the characters. The film premiered in Japan in 1993 and later became a famous film shown on American cable television. Sentai Filmworks licensed the film in 2012. The film was previously available to stream on services such as HIDIVE and Hulu.
Madhouse's 13-episode Ninja Scroll anime television series aired in 2003. Discotek released the series on Blu-ray Disc in 2020. Urban Vision previously released the anime on VHS and DVD in 2003- 2005.
