However, as the vast world of “One Piece” continues to unfold, the second season is poised to face its own challenges. One of the most important hurdles will be the participation of the character Tony Tony Chopper, the lovable reindeer and the doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates.
Tony Tony Chopper, commonly known simply as Chopper, is a reindeer that ate the Zoan-type Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruit, turning it into a human. Chopper was first introduced in chapter 136 of the manga and episode 61 of the One Piece anime.
Chopper is the doctor of the Straw Hat pirates, led by Monkey D. Luffy. His hometown is Drum Island. At first, he had to go through a lonely, lonely life when he was ostracized by a herd of reindeer because of his green nose and ability to think like a human, despite looking like a reindeer.
Chopper has quickly become a fan favorite since his introduction. Chopper’s role in the Straw Hats makes his presence in the live-action series a necessity, although bringing the character into a live-action film would be a complicated task.
There are several ways to introduce Chopper into the One Piece live-action series. One option is to use CGI, which can be expensive due to Chopper’s frequent appearances. Another possibility is to cast a child actor in the role, which can be more cost-effective and speed up the post-production process.
Christian Convery is known for his role in the series Sweet Tooth, which seems like a great choice to play Chopper. Christian Convery’s character in Sweet Tooth – Gus has similarities with Chopper in real life. Additionally, Convery also has experience in the One Piece live-action universe, having played the role of young Sanji.
Interestingly, there are many different CGI designs for Chopper circulating among the fan community. The inclusion of a cute “mascot” like Chopper can greatly increase the popularity of the work. Whether the production team chooses the CGI-created Chopper or a young actor to take on the role, pleasing the entire One Piece community is sure to be a challenging feat.
In addition, since season 1 closely follows the original manga and is well received, the production team will likely aim to continue this successful approach.
