The anime is based on the light novel series written by Koki Fuyutsuki and illustrated by Masami. It was initially serialized on the user-generated novel platform Shosetsuka ni Narō from July 2020 to January 2022. It was later acquired by Overlap, which began publishing the series under its imprint Overlap Novels in April 2021. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Mago Ayakita, began serialization on Overlap's Comic Gardo service in November 2021.
Seven Seas is releasing the novel in English and they describe it as follows:
Philia's family has produced saints for generations. No wonder she was called the greatest saint of all time and was about to marry the second prince, Julius. What no one expected was for Julius to call off the engagement, claiming that Philia's perfection made her ungainly and unpleasant. To add insult to injury, Philia is taken to a neighboring country in exchange for gold and resources, forcing her to leave her homeland! Despite bracing herself for persecution, Philia receives a warm welcome in her new town, where she uses her divine abilities to erect barriers against monsters and cure the disease. But even as she is thriving in her new life, her homeland is still under threat of destruction!
