It has been revealed that the re-edited version of the “Baragaki Arc” episodes in the anime Gintama will have a limited theatrical release in Japan as part of the “Gintama 20th Anniversary Project”.
Compilation film titled “Gintama On Theater 2D: Baragaki-Hen” and will run for 3 weeks starting on November 10, 2023.
The film will also feature additional footage.

Furthermore, the official website launched as part of the project has revealed a brand new key visual to commemorate the announcement.
“Gintama 20th Anniversary Project,” will run from 2023, which marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of Gintama, to 2026, which marks two decades since the anime debuted.
Gintama is a Japanese manga series written in writing. and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. It was serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2003 to September 2018, then in Jump Giga from December 2018 to February 2019, and completed on the Gintama app, where it released from May to June 2019.
Its chapters are collected into 77 tankobon volumes.
The series was adapted into an original video animation (OVA) by Sunrise and introduced at the Jump Festa 2006 Anime Tour in 2005. It was followed by a full 367-episode anime television series, which debuted in April 2005. 2006 on TV Tokyo and ended in October 2018.
In addition to the anime series, three animated films have been produced. The first film came out in April 2010. The second film came out in July 2013. The third and final film came out in January 2021.
