Geto is one of the kindest characters in Jujutsu Kaisen , but because of some problems Geto started to change. What Geto is doing isn’t all evil because he has a good reason to do it, but the way he chooses to do things is just not right. And that leaves Gojo with no choice but to kill him. Now let’s discuss this issue in more detail.
Why did Gojo kill Geto?
Gojo killed Geto because he chose to take a different path from the sorcerer Jujutsu and decided to kill people to remove curses from the world. He was influenced by Yuki Tsukumo’s ideology in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 5. However, Gojo disagreed with Geto’s way of thinking and he chose to kill him in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 when he was already alive. half dead after fighting Yuta.
Geto is traumatized after the Tengen Sama incident and doesn’t know if what he did was right or wrong. After that incident, Gojo became quite strong and he didn’t need anyone’s help to complete his mission, thus their group fell apart and they never carried out the mission as a leader. one team away.
Due to the Star Plasma Vessel event, sprint curses appeared like maggots. All Geto does is exorcise and absorb them over and over again. No one but him could understand the taste of the curse. I don’t know who I’m doing this for.
Geto becomes a devil
After that incident, Geto always told himself that what he witnessed was not uncommon. He understands the ugliness of humans but he still chooses to become a Jujutsu witch to save others. He told himself not to waver and fulfill his duty as a jujutsu witch, but he couldn’t help but hate humans.
However, before choosing to go a different path as a Jujutsu witch, he received advice from Haibara and Yuki Tsukumo. Geto asked Haibara if he would like to be a Jujutsu witch. However, Haibara doesn’t give an exact answer and tells him that he does it because he likes to do things that not everyone can do and he likes to work hard.
However, Geto didn’t need this kind of answer for himself but then he met Yuki Tsukumo again. Yuki is the person Geto was looking for and luckily, he found her. She shares the same ideology as Geto. Yuki doesn’t perform many duties for Jujutsu High because she doesn’t get along well with Jujutsu High School’s policies.

Yuki Tsukumo changed Geto’s opinion
According to her, all they do is treat the symptoms of a problem. And she wanted to do something to treat the cause. She believes that instead of hunting cursed spirits, she wants to create a world where they don’t appear in the first place. That thought caught Geto’s attention immediately.
As you know, cursed spirits are creatures that form when cursed energy escapes from a person and accumulates as sediment. So Yuki tells Geto two ways to create a world where cursed spirits are not born. The first is to remove all of humanity’s curse energy, and the second is to make it possible for all of humanity to control their curse energy.
According to her, the first way worked pretty well because Toji finished it. Yuki had witnessed many cases of a person’s cursed energy being reduced to normal levels. But Toji is the only one whose curse energy drops to zero.
The Birth of the Devil Geto
However, there were a lot of people with divine destiny, so she chose to continue with the second option by making it possible for everyone to control their curse energy. It has been tested that compared to non-witches, jujutsu witches release very little curse energy. So if all mankind were jujutsu witches, curses would not be born.
But Geto has a different opinion. He tells Yuki that it can be done if they kill all the non-witches. And Yuki also agreed with Geto’s opinion. And according to her, it was the easiest way to remove the curse. But she didn’t want to do it that way.
It wasn’t that Geto quickly changed after that, but after witnessing his comrades die one by one, he began to think about what he had discussed with Yuki. So he chose to eliminate all non-jujutsu witches from the world. And Gojo knows what he’s doing is right, because it’s meant to protect the weak, not to kill them. So he had no choice but to kill Geto because he knew he wouldn’t stop if he wasn’t killed.
