Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World returns for its third season this week, with Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1 scheduled to release on October 2, 2024. This season will follow a split format. The first half, titled Shugeki-hen, will consist of eight episodes, while the second half, Hangeki-hen, is scheduled to air in February 2025.
Fans can watch Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1 on Crunchyroll, the main platform for international streaming. While Netflix hasn't confirmed streaming rights, it may become available later as previous seasons are already available on the platform in select regions.

Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1 will be titled Theatrical Malice, according to the anime's official website. A year has passed since the battle at Sanctuary, and Subaru, along with Emilia Camp, their peaceful days came to an abrupt end when a letter appeared.
Delivered by Joshua and Mimi, who act as messengers for Anastasia, the letter contains an invitation to the Watergate City of Pristella. It's revealed that a merchant in Pristella possesses a magical crystal that Emilia is seeking—a potential new ship for Puck.
Subaru, Emilia and their companions will journey to Pristella in Re:Zero Season 3 Episode 1only to be greeted by familiar faces and new dangers. The impending threat of the Witch Cult will also re-emerge, with the Sin Archbishops preparing for a massive attack on the city.
Re:Zero Part 2 Summary
Re:Zero Part 2 sees Subaru return to Crusch's mansion after defeating the Witch Cult, only to discover that Rem has been forgotten by everyone except him. Her existence was devoured by the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, Lye Batenkaitos, and she fell into a coma.
Subaru attempted to reverse this by dying and resetting, but was unsuccessful. He and Emilia then go to Roswaal's mansion and are redirected to Sanctuary, a place locked by a magical barrier. There, Emilia must undergo trials to break down barriers, but struggles emotionally.
Subaru also faces his own demons throughout the trials and learns more about the Witches of Sin. Meanwhile, Roswaal has been manipulating events, aiming to turn Subaru into a hero in Re:Zero Part 2, while Elsa Granhiert threatens the mansion.
Subaru died and reset several times, discovering the truth about Sanctuary's elder, Ryuzu, and her clones, who were part of the experiments of the Witch of Greed, Echidna. Throughout the season, Subaru overcomes betrayal, trials, and emotional challenges.
He encouraged Emilia to overcome her insecurities, leading to breakthroughs for both of them. Re:Zero Part 2 ends with Emilia completing the trial, defeating the Great Rabbit with Beatrice's help, and Subaru strengthening their relationship, while Roswaal hinted at future plans regarding to the Witch of Greed.
