This episode will also be available digitally first. The novel is the conclusion of the original story. Rifujin na Magonote published the story’s conclusion on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from May 2015 to September 2017, following the conclusion of the original Mushoku Tensei story. Kadokawa released the first printed volume of the story in June 2023 and will release the second volume on May 24.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the main light novel series and the manga adaptation by Yuka Fujikawa. The company also licensed the spin-off manga Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious (Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Datte Honki desu) by Shōko Iwami. Seven Seas describes the “epic and influential fantasy” story of the original novel:
Kicked out by his family and wandering the streets, a 34-year-old unemployed shut-in thinks he’s hit rock bottom—just as he was hit and killed by a speeding truck! Waking up to find himself reincarnated as an infant in a world of swords and magic, but with the memories of his first life intact, Rudeus Greyrat is determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past. He will make the most of this reincarnation as he begins his second life adventure!
Rifujin na Magonote originally serialized the story Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation on Shōsetsuka ni Narō! (Let’s Become Novelists!) from 2012 to 2015. Kadokawa’s MF Books imprint then began publishing the print version in 2014. The 26th and final volume was published in November 2022. Seven Seas Entertainment released the 25th episode in English in December 2023.
The first season of the novel’s first anime adaptation premiered in January 2021, and the second season premiered in October 2021, after a delay from that July. Funimation aired this season. Crunchyroll and Hulu are currently streaming the anime, including the unaired original anime (OVA) spin-off “Eris the Goblin Slayer”. The anime’s second season premiered in July 2023 and will air for two seasons (two-quarters of a year), with the second half airing from April to June 2024. Crunchyroll will stream the new season when it broadcasting. This season will have a total of 25 episodes.
