Here is a list of the best anime to watch while One Piece is on hiatus! So don't be sad to say goodbye to Luffy, embark on a whole new adventure by watching these great shows.
One Punch Man (2015–present)
One Punch Man follows a hero named Saitama, who has the ability to end a fight with a single punch and is frustrated with his “virtual world-breaking” power. Like One Piece, One Punch Man has a silliness that makes it fun to watch, and if you like anime that don't take itself too seriously, this is the show for you.
Fairy Tail (2010–2019)
One of the best things about One Piece is how Oda filled his world with all kinds of cool monsters and interesting creatures. It seems like in every arc we are introduced to some awesome new concept or race. Whether it's Mermen, Minks or anything else.
This element gives Luffy's adventures a truly magical feel. Fairy Tail is similar, the anime gives the feeling that anything can happen, and any legend can be true.
Attack on Titan (2012-2023)
Attack on Titan doesn't have much in common with One Piece. One side is optimistic and cheerful, the other side is gloomy and gloomy. One side is about the joy of adventure, the other about the horror of war. Perhaps the only obvious commonality that both anime share is that they both feature giants… although the giants in One Piece seem much friendlier than the Titans.
However, if you look a little deeper, you'll see that Attack on Titan and One Piece have something else in common, and that's a pretty important theme in both stories. Both anime series are ultimately about finding peace at all costs, though Luffy and Eren may have different methods to ensure that peace.
Dragon Ball Daima (2024)
Honestly, we could have put any Dragon Ball anime on this list, as a lot of the details in One Piece are clearly inspired by Akira Triyama's masterpiece. However, Dragon Ball Daima was chosen partly because it's new, and also because there are some thematic connections between Goku's latest adventure and One Piece.
Daima will explore a never-before-seen land, the Demon Realm, a place unlike any we have seen before in Dragon Ball. This sounds a lot like the Straw Hats traveling to mysterious new islands in each saga. Plus, since this is a Dragon Ball series, the action scenes will be sensational, so if you're only interested in One Piece for the battles, you won't be disappointed.
Bleach (2004–present)
One of the best things about One Piece has always been the way Oda uses the unique powers of a devil fruit user to keep the action scenes fresh and exciting. While Bleach's fight choreography may not be on the same level (and it's much more serious), there's no denying that seeing Ichigo fight is just as entertaining as watching Luffy fight.
Naruto (2002-2017)
For a while, Naruto and One Piece had a friendly rivalry. One has a pirate theme, the other has a ninja theme, but if you peel back the layers, you'll see that Naruto and One Piece have very similar themes and ideas.
The main characters are both loud idiots who lead both series. Every anime has a large cast of supporting characters and spectacular fight scenes. Furthermore, Naruto and One Piece are both about people pursuing their dreams against the impossible, whether it's becoming Hokage or finding Gol D. Roger's legendary treasure.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009–2010)
Every anime fan knows Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is one of the best movies of all time and worth watching.
Both anime use brighter moments to hide the darker aspects. For example, the reveal of Nami's past or the final fate of Nina Tucker. They all have emotional scenes, which are a complete contrast to the usual exciting action scenes.
My Hero Academia (2016–present)
Set in a world where everyone is born with superpowers, Izuku Midoriya is one of the unlucky few to be born without a Quirk. However, a chance encounter with the world's greatest hero gives Modoriya the chance to prove that he is just as superhuman as his friends.
My Hero Academia is a story about the underdog who strives. This reminds us of Luffy, who like Deku, has always managed to change the world through sheer force of will and determination.
