Nerdist has revealed an exclusive first look at the epic new battle art for The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim. The upcoming anime film will begin showing in North American theaters on December 13, 2024.
Kenji Kamiyama (co-director Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) is directing the film, with Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou writing the script, based on an original story by The Dark showrunners Crystal: Age of Resistance, Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. Sola Entertainment is producing the film.

The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim will be published and distributed by Warner Bros. The main summary is described as follows:
Set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim” tells the fate of House Helm Hammerhand , the legendary kings of Rohan. A surprise attack by Wulf, an intelligent and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking revenge for his father's death, forces Helm and his people to make a last stand in the ancient stronghold of Hornburg- a mighty fortress that would later be known as Helm's Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Helm's daughter Héra must muster all her will to lead the resistance against a dangerous enemy intent on their utter destruction.
