MIYAVI, the “Samurai Guitarist” who recently celebrated his 20th anniversary as a solo artist, will release a new original album with all new songs for the first time in about three years. The release is a two-part series, with the first part, “Lost In Love,” being released on April 3. The second part features eight new songs and will come in two versions: a standard edition and a limited edition first that includes a piece of artwork. Titled “Naked” and “Raw,” the album returns to MIYAVI’s edgy and solid identity. Collaborations with international producers and art directors make this work both sonically and visually stimulating and impactful.

MIYAVI has gained worldwide attention as a guitarist for his unique “slap” guitar playing style, playing an electric guitar with his fingers instead of a pick. He has performed over 380 live shows in 30 countries and has had 9 successful world tours. Other achievements include performing the national anthem at Dodger Stadium in the United States, opening the National Stadium during the Paris Saint-Germain football team’s visit to Japan, and providing music and halftime performances for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
In addition to pursuing music, MIYAVI made his Hollywood debut as an actor in Angelina Jolie’s “Unbroken.” He also appeared on the runway at Paris Fashion Week as a model for Yohji Yamamoto and Y-3, and was the first Japanese person to feature in the GUCCI Global Collection. In recent years, he has also been actively involved in advertising campaigns for companies such as DELL and McLaren. In 2017, he became the first Japanese person to be appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
