King Records' rap-themed project Hypnosis Mic features voice actors rapping in the personalities of the original characters, and it debuted in September 2017. Hypnosis Mic's first full-length album Enter the Hypnosis Microphone launched in April 2018. The group earned the top spot as the most popular voice actor Twitter account in Japan in 2018. Project includes multiple manga serials, a mobile game, stage plays, and live events.
The first season of the anime Hypnosis Mic-Division Rap Battle-Rhyme Anima premiered in October 2020. The second season HYPNOSISMIC-Division Rap Battle-Rhyme Anima PLUS premiered in October 2023. Funimation aired the season first and Crunchyroll streamed the second seasons as they aired.
The smartphone game Hypnosis Mic-Alternative Rap Battle- launched in March 2020. The latest smartphone game, Hypnosis Mic-Dream Rap Battle-, was announced in April.
Update: Takanori Tsujimoto (Resident Evil: Vendetta) is directing the film at Polygon Pictures and Yūichirō Momose, the developer of the franchise's story settings, characters, and game events, is writing the script. Kazui will return as character designer. TOHO NEXT is distributing the film.
