A Hypnosis Mic-Division Rap Battle-anime film will open in Japan on February 21, 2025 JST.
The film will have an interactive element where audience votes will determine the outcome of rap battles. It is being billed as “Japan's first theatrical film with audience participation.”

GREAT LINE RECORDING' Hypnosis Mic-Division Rap Battle-multimedia project began in 2017 and includes character CDs, live performances, comics and mobile games. The anime series Hypnosis Mic-Division Rap Battle-Rhyme Anima premiered in 2020 and its sequel Hypnosis Mic-Division Rap Battle-Rhyme Anima+ premiered in October 2024.

Legendary rap group The Dirty Dawg was supposed to take Japan by storm, but they later disbanded. Now each member fights in one of four rival groups. Battles for status are fought using rap music and the Hypnotic Mic, a microphone that can influence the human spirit.
