Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou is the director’s second work Mari Okada (Anohana screenwriter, Mobile Suit Series composer”Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans”), which follows the 2018 PAWorks-produced fantasy film Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms. The plot revolves around three teenagers in a gloomy town where a steel factory explosion occurred. Male character Masamune Kikuiri (Junya Enoki) is led by the mysterious Mutsumi Sagami (Reina Ueda) to the steel plant’s fifth blast furnace, where a wild girl named Itsumi (Misaki Kuno) resides. The meeting between these three people disrupts the balance of the world and the unstoppable urge to love between boys and girls bored with everyday life begins to be destroyed.
