The staff of Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199), the latest project in the Space Battleship Yamato remake, revealed on Friday that Megumi Han will take on the role of Sasha in the second film, ”Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki”(Attack of the Burning Sun). Megumi Han's mother Keiko Han voiced this character in the movie Be Forever Yamato.

The second film will hit theaters on November 22, and participating theaters will offer a special limited edition Blu-ray Disc of the film during its run. The film will then be released on retail Blu-ray and DVD on January 29.
Daisuke Ono will perform the ending theme song for the second film. Ono plays Susumu Kodai in the film and he wrote the lyrics for the new ending theme.
“Kuro no Shinryaku”(Dark Invasion), the first film, opened on July 19. The film grossed 58,863,050 yen (about US$385,100) in the first three days.
The anime will release as seven films.

The new cast participating in the new film includes:
Naomichi Yamato (From the New World episode director, Mobile Suit Granada: Iron-Blooded Orphans) will direct the new film, with Harutoshi Fukui also currently attached as supervising director along with serving as writer and director. main writer like previous anime in the series. Hideki Oka will also return as co-writer. Nobuteru Yuki will return as character designer. Junichirō Tamamori, Mika Akitaka and Yasushi Ishizu are credited with the mechanical designs. Hiroyuki Goto is the CG producer, while Shōsuke Uechi is credited as the CG director. Tomohiro Yoshida is the sound director.
Like previous anime in the series, the late producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki is credited for the original work, and his son Shōji Nishizaki is credited as executive producer and copyright supervisor. Akira Miyagawa will return to compose music with Shu Kanematsu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses). Akira Miyagawa's late father and original composer of Space Battleship Yamato, Hiroshi Miyagawa, is also credited for the music.
The new project is a sequel to Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi-Kōshō-STASHA-(Space Battleship Yamato 2205): The New Voyage Part II: Stasha film), which premiered in February 2022.
Yamato yo Towa ni (Be Forever Yamato) is also the title of the 1980 sequel to the original Yamato anime project. The story of the 1980 film is not set in the year 3199, but the story of the original 2004 anime video series Dai Yamato Zero-go is set in that year.
