New summer-themed Pokémon releases will help beat the summer heat
The collection is inspired by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero and summer festivals in general, as the name suggests, referring to the series of regional festivals held to celebrate the season. Pokémon Center showcases a “fresh green” yukata set perfect for summer outings, stating, “Coordinate them with Ogerpon-shaped hair clips and Pecharunt-shaped clear earrings for a stylish look!” The product listing also adds that the Summer Festival One-handed Bag and Summer Festival Ribbon Scrunchie also pair well with kimonos, both of which can be seen in the collection above.
Hello Kitty, My Hero Academia and more Immerse yourself in the spirit of traditional Japan
With kimonos being a staple of summer festivals, it's no surprise that many popular IPs are releasing similarly themed merchandise and artwork for the season. Hello Kitty launched a new line of yukata in May in both female and male versions, while new traditional ukiyo-e prints of My Hero Academia featuring the male cast all wearing yukata are on sale this summer. In addition to the seasonal assortment, fans can visit Pokémon Centers to purchase plushies, everyday items, general apparel, and more.
