Encore Films has revealed the release date of the animated film Look Back in Singapore and Indonesia.
Indonesians will be able to watch the adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto's (Chainsaw Man) starts on July 31, while Singaporeans will have to wait until August 8.
Encore Films previously teased the release of Look Back in Southeast Asia in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnamese social media sites at the end of May.
Look Back has been featured in the Annecy Presents selection of the 2024 Annecy Festival and is scheduled to launch in Japan on June 28.
The one-shot was released in July 2021. Manga Plus describes the plot as follows:
Fujino is a 4th grade student who draws a manga for the school newspaper. Her art makes her the star of her class, but one day, she learns that Kyomoto, a student who refuses to go to school, also wants to submit comics to the newspaper…
Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Flip Flappers director, Chainsaw Man evil designer) is the film's director, screenwriter and character designer. Studio Durian of which Oshiyama is the representative director, is an animation studio. The main voice actors are Yumi Kawai and Mizuki Yoshida as Ayumu Fujino and Kyomoto, respectively.
