Deguchi plays the main character Aya Kumota
The official website for the live-action series adaptation of Kana Ozawa’s Blue Moment manga revealed on Wednesday that Natsuki Deguchi will join the film’s cast as main character Aya Kumota. The website has revealed still images of Deguchi (right in the image below) alongside previously announced cast member Tomohisa Yamashita (left), who plays Kankurō Haruhara in the film.

The series will premiere in April. Ryō Tanaka is directing the series, Hideya Hamada is writing the script, and Naoki Satō is composing the music.
The series revolves around Aya Kumota, a girl who has just started working at the Japan Meteorological Agency, where she meets a handsome guy named Kankurō Haruhara. When she got to know him, she also discovered that he was a worker at SDM, a front-line disaster response unit.
Ozawa debut manga series on Kadokawa’s Comic Bridge Online website in November 2018. Kadokawa published the manga’s second compilation volume in September 2020.
Blue Thermal by Ozawa-Manga Aonagi Daigaku Taiiku-kai Kōkū-bu-(Aonagi University Sports Festival Aviation Club) ran in Shinchosha’s Monthly Comic @Bunch magazine from April 2014 to November 2017, and Shinchosha published five compiled book volumes of the manga (the manga’s fifth volume mentions that only the “first part” of the story has ended). Ozawa launched a prequel manga titled Blue Thermal: First Flight on the LINE Manga app in November 2021 and ended it in January 2022. Shinchosha published a compilation booklet of the manga in February 2022 .
The anime film adaptation of the manga premiered in Japan in March 2022. Eleven Arts released the film on home video.
