And the previous chapter showed the personal sacrifices ordinary soldiers must make in the face of such a threat. But just as Kafka prevented that cost in the previous chapter of Kaiju No., it seems like he can also easily interfere in his teammates’ battles.
Kafka has marked the locations where Kaiju fought Hoshina and Narumi, who may be having personal and intense battles. But, Kafka’s presence automatically lowered the stakes of those wars. With Kafka seemingly able to finish off all of these Kaiju with a single hit, he can simply take them down one by one as they are engaged in much more interesting battles with members of the Kaiju.
