A new character PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II television anime series, which features Llenn's best friend, Fukaziroh. The second season is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 4, 2024.

Masayuki Sakoi is directing the second season, with Yosuke Kuroda as series writer and scriptwriter, Yoshio Kozakai as character designer, Studio 3Hz is credited for the animation, although in June there was announced that the studio has transferred planning and production operations to A-1 Pictures.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Kino's Journey author Keiichi Sigsawa and illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The series is published under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko label, launched on December 10, 2014, and has released 13 volumes as of March 2023. The light novels have also inspired manga adaptations to be published. illustrated by Tadachi Tamori in 2015.
