The official website for Chibi Godzilla Raids Again (Chibi Godzilla no Gyakushū), an anime about the character Chibi Godzilla, revealed a new character for the second half of the anime sequel in trailers and images on Tuesday.

Mamoru Miyano voices the new character Chibi Gigan, a robot monster tasked with retrieving Chibi Mecha Godzilla and destroying Monster Island. Unfortunately, Chibi Gigan is always easy to defeat. The new character will appear in the next episode of the anime on Wednesday.

Miyano previously played Haruo Sakaki in the Godzilla anime trilogy, and he also voiced male protagonist Trapper in Japanese for this year's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The anime sequel premiered on April 3 at 7:05 a.m. JST on TV Tokyo's Oha Suta. After airing, TOHO animation's YouTube channel will stream the episodes for free. The Godzilla franchise's YouTube channel began streaming episodes in Japanese with English subtitles on April 10.
The anime features a returning cast.
Taketo Shinkai once again directed the anime at Pie in the sky, and Chiharu Sakazaki again designed the characters.
The anime premiered in April 2023 at 7:00 am on TV Tokyo's Iniminimanimo programming block. (Iniminimanimo — a reference to the English countdown rhyme “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe” — previously aired children's anime series such as Pui Pui Molcar Driving School.)

The short animated series titled”Tadaima! Chibi Gojira”(I'm Home! Chibi Godzilla), based on the character Chibi Godzilla, was streamed on the YouTube channel of the Godzilla (Gojira) franchise in 2020.
Chibi Godzilla debuted in Chiharu Sakazaki's picture book Ganbare Chibi Gojira (Do Your Best, Chibi Godzilla) in October 2018. Sakazaki released his second picture book Nakayoshi Chibi Gojira (Close Friends, Chibi Godzilla) in May 2018. 2019.
The Chibi Godzilla Project celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Godzilla franchise. The project debuted in July 2018, and since then it has appeared on the cover of the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building, as a kigurumi character at the 2018 “Gojira Fes” (Godzilla Fest) event, in sets animated short films during theatrical hiatuses and for other projects. Before designing Chibi Godzilla, Sakazaki was known for designing characters such as the penguin on the Suica travel card and Chiba Prefecture's official mascot Chi-ba-kun.
