Studio Ghibli has revealed new images for their animated feature The Boy and the Heron, which is director Hayao Miyazaki’s first film The Wind Rises in 2013. Check out the new images:

The boy and the heron – New preview image
The Boy and the Heron premiered in Japan on July 14 and had very little marketing/promotion. Finally, the film will have its international premiere on September 7 at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. It will then have its U.S. premiere at the 61st New York Film Festival, which runs from the 29th. September to October 15. Europe will have a chance to see for the first time on September 22 at the 71st San Sebastian Festival in Spain. Miyazaki wrote the screenplay for The Boy and the Heron, with Joe Hisaishi composing the music.

The official Japanese title can be translated as How Do You Live and shares the name with Yoshino Genzaburo’s novel from 1937. Miyazaki is a fan of the novel, so Barnes and Noble describe the story:
How do you live? narrated in two voices. The first belongs to the fifteen-year-old Copper, who after the death of his father faces enormous and inevitable change, including the betrayal of his own best friend. Between parts of Copper’s emerging story, his uncle keeps a diary for him, sharing knowledge and offering advice on life’s big questions as Copper begins to encounter them. .
