Sailor Moon continues to inspire spectacular cosplay after more than 30 years
It’s no surprise that Sailor Moon’s genre-defining release has spawned numerous cosplay endeavors to this day. Official stage plays and musicals, most recently re-launched in April with the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon – Nogizaka46 Version musical, continue to captivate fans with their high production values. However, many of the most creative cosplays come from dedicated fans and their endless imaginations. Cosplayer Princess Usako captured Sailor Moon’s iconic transformation scene, which spans 18 meters and took over a decade to create; mash-ups like @mochi_fett’s Sailor Moon and Star Wars cosplay highlight the series’ relevance even more than 30 years after its release.
