At the most recent Anime Expo, I had the opportunity to tour the iBUYPOWER booth and see the limited edition Silver Wolf Y70 Case in person, and now, thanks to our friends at iBUYPOWER, I can get my hands on it. Get this case wrapped to take a closer look. All I can say is that as a fan and regular player of the Honkai Star Rail games, this box is truly the pinnacle of beauty and indulgence.
Pack
Starting with the box, which is a collector's item in itself. We take the classic look of an older gaming device with a cute 8-bit version of Silver Wolf standing next to the PC case with text above that reads “Achievement unlocked: You are now a certified Own the limited edition Silver Wolf Y70 Case! The pixel art is adorable and the box is safe enough.
Upon opening the box, I was greeted by a set of small Silver Wolf-themed grill fans that can be attached to the box and an acrylic keychain modeled after the game's popular antique, Punklorde Mentality. Both are part of the package.
Shell design
From there, we now go to the case. Like I saw in July at Anime Expo, it's still beautiful. The case is not completely rectangular and is quite large (like the standard Y70). But this is not the standard case as it features some incredible artwork from the game.
This limited edition doesn't come with the screen that some Y70s have, but must I say the Silver Wolf has never looked better. From her two official poses to her cute little chibi pose, it reminded me why she's always been an essential character in my various squads in the game. And last but not least, do we Allow Change? The power button has a cherry shape at the top.
On this side we see both a simple yet unique stripe pattern with purple and blue accents that ends with a little chibi Silver Wolf game while chewing gum like any true gamer. Overall, it's a very nice box and fits Silver Wolf's personality very well.
Inside iBUYPOWER and HYTE Honkai Star Rail Case
Of course, it's not all about looks. I haven't set up this case yet because I wanted to take a closer look while it was still “new” without embarrassing myself with my cable management skills, but I took a look at the actual functionality and I will later This will build a real PC using it.
The inside is black and purple, again following the Silver Wolf color theme. The back even features the Limited Edition card of the “WANTED” bonus from the game along with the HYTE logo.
Like the standard Y70, the top and front panels are removable without screws, allowing for easy installation of components. There's plenty of space for fans, with floor cooling, which I would definitely appreciate if you're planning on using this case for your gaming PC. Both air and water cooling options are possible. It also comes with a color-matched PCIE 4.0 riser cable.
HYTE boasts that this box can accommodate even the largest graphics cards of similar size, which is very true. The inside is sturdy so you won't have any problems bending it and there's plenty of space to keep it from getting too hot. Drive management will also be no problem with the ejectable floating storage cart. The top also comes off easily.
Cable management isn't an issue as you can easily tuck them behind the side panel, especially since the case has velcro straps, routing channels and tie-down points. Specifications on HYTE's Website provide exact dimensions:
Limited edition Silver Wolf Y70 case – Impressive
First of all I would like to thank the staff at iBUYPOWER for giving me the opportunity to review such a wonderful case. As for my impressions, it's mostly the same as what I felt when I saw it in Los Angeles this past July but again: this is truly a must-buy for any Honkai fan Which Star Rail has some spare money (case packs). is $299.99 – not exactly cheap). However, for your money you are getting something created with passion and well thought out, it is definitely not a money grab. They've gone the extra mile and made sure you know it with all their carefully crafted workmanship. Simply put, as one infamous hero once said, “It was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute detail…”
HYTE just ended its pre-order period but stay tuned for when they become available because If you're a fan of HSR this is both well made, beautiful and something that will last a long time with you. In addition to the case package, you can also get a keycap set and a desk cushion package or just the desk. The 3 year warranty is extremely attractive and I can't wait to try this product with a proper build.
