The cherry blossom viewing trip ends in the 14th volume of Afro’s Laid-Back Camp manga, and afterwards the OEC aims to recruit several new members. Something that the camping boom makes a little more difficult.
This volume includes chapters 76 to 81. The cherry blossom viewing trip has ended and it’s time to start the new school year. Nadeshiko and his friends are working to recruit members for the Outdoor Discovery Club. Are there any students who have the camping spirit in them?!
In this episode of Laid-Back Camp, the girls go camping and enjoy delicious food. Pretty much the same as every other episode of the series, because that’s the whole premise of the thing. Things get varied with things like solo camping trips and different locations, so things never get too stale.
However, this episode is especially notable for having two new characters join the cast; Mei and Ema. With the OEC looking for new members, I’m sure you can guess where things are headed.
However, you are only half right; However, the participation of a single member is all the OEC needs. As long as they can satisfy her new love of cycling…
Things are changing for OEC, if only a little. It will be interesting to see how things will change with the addition of Mei to their ranks. Her friend Ema may not be joining them—at least not yet—but she happens to take on a part-time job that’s closely related to their activities. Maybe that will make her develop an interest in such things.
You can’t fault Laid-Back Camp’s consistency. It continues to deliver an enjoyable story about girls going camping—one might even say, comforting. It also has a sense of humor. This episode may suggest things are changing for the OEC, but I’d say it only brings exciting prospects for its future.
