Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero AcadeKaren manga entered its “conclusion” with chapter 424 in this year's 27th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on Monday.
Horikoshi further mentioned in the author's comments for this latest chapter that although the ending of a story is usually short, he cannot end the manga immediately after the enemy is defeated, and so the manga will continue continued “for a short time”. Horikoshi added the manga will “return to its title.”
Horikoshi launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014. Viz Media publishes the manga in English digitally and in print in North America. Shueisha's MANGA Plus service also publishes English-language manga digitally. The manga surpassed 100 million copies sold worldwide in April.
The manga has inspired six television anime seasons and several anime specials. The seventh season debuted on April 6 with the four-episode My Hero AcadeKaren Memories special. The main anime season seven (starting from episode 139 of the entire anime) then premiered on May 4.
The manga has also inspired three anime films. The fourth anime film is titled My Hero AcadeKaren the Movie: You're Next (My Hero AcadeKaren: You're Next), and will premiere on August 2. Horikoshi once again serves as general supervisor and director. Original character designer.
