A-1 Pictures’ has released a new promo for its upcoming office comedy, My New Boss Is Goofy.
According to Anime News Network, the video premiered as part of Aniplex Online Fest 2023, a livestream event highlighting important developments in the popular anime series. The latest PV of My New Boss Is Goofy announces that the film will be released on October 7, along with revealing the new staff. It also previews the show’s two theme songs. The opening theme, “Planetaria,” will be performed by the group Fujifabric, who also performed the themes for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations and Dr. Stone. The series’ ending theme, Hanataba, or “Bouquet,” will be performed by Lenny Code Fiction (My Hero Academia, Boruto).
As stated in the aforementioned video, the newly revealed staff includes Ayako Kohno (Sword Art Online Movie-Progressive), who is working as Assistant Director alongside Director Noriyuki Abe (Bleach, Yu-Yu Hakusho). The series’ animation directors are Takahiro Yasuda (Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku), Miyuki Nakamura (Dragon Ball) and Reina Iwasaki (The Dawn of the Witch). Seiki Tamura, who is known for his work on The Ancient Magus Bride and the long-running Lupine III series, is serving as the series’ Art Director.
My New Boss Is Goofy adapts the popular manga series by Dan Ichikawa, which debuted on the online comic platform “Manga Cross” in February 2019. The series chronicles the daily lives of literary staff room 26-year-old Kentaro Momose, who changed jobs after resolving the problem. harassment from his last boss. Luckily, his new owner, Yusei Hirosaki, is completely different, serving as a calm but kind person in Kentaro’s new life. In the anime, Kentaro and Yusei are played by Kotaro Nishiyama (Lovely Earth Defense Club LOVE!!) and Yuichiro Umehara (Mobile Suit Gunma: Iron Blooded Orphans), respectively.
A-1 Pictures is no stranger to the comedy genre, having previously created the popular romantic comedy series Kaguya-Sama- Love Is War!. Adapted from the manga by Aka Akasaka, this series revolves around two high school students Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Hirogane, who are deeply in love with each other. However, their status as elite students prevented them from expressing that love publicly. This situation begins a heated rivalry between the two, as each of them tries to find a confession from the other using a myriad of creative tactics. Additionally, A-1 Pictures also produced the beloved film adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s popular fantasy comedy, Fairy Tail.
My New Boss Is Goofy will air in Japan on October 7. However, it is currently unclear when the film will be released internationally.
