This is Mitsuhiro Arita's first time attending the most famous pop culture convention of the year. A legend in the world of illustration and card games, Arita's work with Sakai has opened up more doors for even bigger projects in the West while promoting Usagi Yojimbo in time for the series' 40th anniversary.
Mitsuhiro Arita's collaboration with Stan Sakai manifests itself in the form of different covers for each of the five issues of Usagi Yojimbo: The Crow, showcasing his signature realistic and dark style, combining digital art conventions and pencil drawings. But outside of The Crow, there are plenty of extremely popular illustrations, perhaps most famously in his card game art, including projects like Magic: The Gathering.
His vibrant colors and distinct layouts also lend themselves to sought-after cards like the one on Usagi Yojimbo and even some other highly anticipated upcoming projects.

Two living legends, Mitsuhiro Arita and Stan Sakai, will appear at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024, in time to promote their recent work Usagi Yojimbo: The Crow, as well as debut more of Arita's recent projects.. With many of Arita's previous works appearing in series beloved by children around the world, it's no surprise that his appearance at SDCC would resonate with the TCG and comics communities, especially as his art continues to demonstrate its influence on the comics industry. This is especially evident in Stan Sakai's words about the illustrator:

The collaboration with Usagi Yojimbo is just the beginning for Mitsuhiro Arita, as he has many other projects planned, some of which will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. One of the most notable things showcased at the event will be his work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for IDW, and the artist also teased future covers that will appear for Marvel as well.
