This month, Kio Shimoku posted more Genshiken artwork and we saw the launch of Genshiken pop-up stores across Japan! Yes, there’s even Ogiue merchandise!
Kio had a lot of trouble finding this Engage SR3 model kit from The Five Star Stories, but then ordered and received it.
More pages from Sister Wars, Kio’s sexist parody of The Phantom Menace. So Chapter 1 is completed.

Kio is somewhat supportive of the color but thinks the work would not be different even in B&W. Kio likes the color palette in Star Wars in general.

Ogiue and Ohno could technically also fall into this category. Kio includes an old drawing of Ohno cosplaying Leina from Queen’s Blade and asks Ogiue to cosplay as Elina, Leina’s younger sister. This is a voice actor joke because the original Ohno (Kawasumi Ayako) voices Leina and the original Ogiue (Mizuhashi Kaori) voices Elina.

Kio went through 70 pages of his eromanga manuscript, but then became unsure about a certain part and finally decided to double his efforts and draw the whole thing.

Kio has been watching a lot of 18+ doujinshi by author Shima Tokio and was not only surprised by what happened in between, but also that Shima would have time to draw this after writing a long-running manga.

Kio reads a manga drawn by Nagata Reiji, a man who left his profession as a surgeon to become a manga artist, about that very experience. Nagata was also apparently featured in Afternoon magazine, and Kio decided to buy a copy of his manga.
