The results of the Next Manga Awards 2024 have been announced. Taking first place in the Print Manga category is the action work Kagurabachi, while the Web Manga champion is the musical Girl Meet Rock!
Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump last September and will be released in English this fall via Viz Media. The revenge story, which involves swords, yakuza, and witches, went viral in the month of its release thanks to memes that hailed it as one of the best manga ever made. In March of this year, it ranked seventh on the Manga We Want to See Animated 2024 rankings.

Meanwhile, Girl Meets Rock! (Futsu no Kei-On Bu) — written by Kuwait and illustrated by Tetsuo Ideuchi — began serialization on Shonen Jump+ in January 2024. The story follows a first-year high school student who joins the light music club. The series was available on Manga Plus but was recently removed from the service.
The runner-up for the Print category of the 2024 Next Manga Awards was Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun if: Mafia Episode (Hiroja and Nishi Osamu) and Tsumiki Ogami and the Strange Everyday Life (Miiyu Morishita). English version of the yuri drama My Girlfriend's Not Here Today by Kiyoko Iwami received the Global Grand Prize.
For the Web Manga category, the runner-up is Masaoki RuriDragon of Shindo and Vtuber Kusamura Shigemi of sakamegane. The Global Grand Prize winner for this category is the traditional Chinese edition of Samurai in Another World by Keigo Saito.
The Next Manga Award (Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou) was founded by DAVINCI and niconico and began in 2014. Nominations are taken from user submissions, based on what users “feel has the potential to be the next big hits.” Results are then determined by global votes.
Last year's Next Manga Awards saw Muchimaro There Is Also a Hole in the Organization Sinh viên! won in the manga in category and The Guy She Was Interest in Was Not a Guy At All of Sumiko Arai Top in web manga category.
