The official website of the 2025 Grammy Awards announced on Friday that they nominated Shoji Meguro's remix of the battle soundtrack “Last Surprise” for the game Persona 5 for the category “Best Remix, Instrumental and Vocal” for the 65th awards ceremony. Other nominees in this category include:
“Alma”by säje featuring Regina Carter”Always Come Back”by John Legend”bigfellngs”by Willow”The Sound Of Silence”by Cody Fry featuring Sleeping at Last
8-Bit Big Band arranged the song “Last Surprise” on the band's fourth album Game Changer, released in November 2023. The game Persona 5 was originally released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan Released in September 2016. The game was released in North America in April 2017 after a delay.
Ryuichi Sakamoto's album Opus was also nominated for “Best New Film” in the Album Age, Environment or Song category.
The award ceremony will be held on February 2, 2025.
Musician and composer Masanori Takumi won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album for his album Sakura at the 65th Grammy Awards in February 2023.
