The fourth compiled volume of Yū Maeda's spinoff manga Hataraku Saibō Muscle (Cells at Work! Muscle) announced on October 22 that the manga will end with the fifth volume, scheduled for next spring .
Maeda launches Akane Shimizu's Cells at Work spinoff manga! manga on Kodansha's Morning two manga website in February 2023. Kodansha published the manga's first compiled volume in July 2023.
Shimizu has launched the original Cells at Work! manga in the March 2015 issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine and ending in January 2021. Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English.
The original manga's first television anime premiered in July 2018. The second season premiered in January 2021, alongside the Cells at Work! Code Black side story manga.
Kodansha USA is also releasing the following spin-off manga in English: Cells at Work: Bacteria!, Cells at Work!: Neo Bacteria!, Cells at Work! White Brigade, cells at work! Honey, the cells are NOT active!, The cells are active! Code Black, Cells at Work and Friends!, Cells at Work: Platelets!, and Cells at Work! Ladies.
The previous cells are working! The concluding spin-off manga is Hataraku Saibō Illegal (Cells at Work! Illegal) by Kae Hashimoto, which ended in July 2023. The manga focuses on a body that uses illegal substances and is subjected to physical violence. The spinoff manga Hataraku Saibō Lady (Cells at Work! Lady) by Akari Otokawa and Shigemitsu Harada ended in September 2022. The manga focuses on the physiology of adult women, such as menstruation, pregnancy, and give birth. Harada also writes separate cells at work! spin-off manga Cell at Work! Code Black, ending January 2021. Hataraku Saibō Neko (Cells at Work! Cat) by Choco Aozora and Meku Kaire and Hataraku Saibō Okusuri (Cells at Work! Medicine) by Koma Warita and Ryō Kuji both recently debuted in the magazine Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in 2021. May 2023.
The live-action adaptation of the original manga will premiere in Japan on December 13.
