Solo Leveling is one of the best-rated manhwa series in Korea. Currently, this work has been adapted into an anime and will expand into live action in the near future.
Anime Solo Leveling (Japanese name: Ore Dake Level Up Na Ken) is scheduled to premiere in 2024 and now we know how many episodes will be shown in the first season. It’s amazing, the number is up to 23 to 25 episodes. The first season will be divided into two parts, but both will be released in the same year.
With a maximum length of 25 episodes, the series has enough space to develop the story and characters satisfactorily. Splitting season 1 into two parts is also a smart choice, especially when both will be released in the same year. This gives the production team time to fine-tune details without losing quality, ensuring the audience is still captivated.
Regarding the project implementation team, we have Shunsuke Nakashige directing the content and Noboru Kimura writing the script. The soundtrack was responsible for Hiroyuki Sawano (who worked on Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist and Kill la Kill). The film is produced by studio A-1 Pictures, which is also the cradle of two popular anime series Sword Art Online and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. With these names, it can be said that the film was produced with a quality staff.
Solo Leveling was written by Chugong and published from 2016 to 2018, amassing a total of 270 chapters in an impressive 14 volumes. The plot opens in a world where powerful Hunters fight to protect humanity from monster invasion. The main character, Sung Jin-Woo, starts out as the weakest Hunter, but receives a mysterious power called “Player”, which sets him on a path full of dangerous yet fascinating adventures.
However, it seems that when Solo Leveling adapted into an anime, although the general plot remains the same, it will be changed somewhat differently from what fans have read in the Korean series. The names of the main characters were also converted to Japanese. For example, the character Sung Jin-Woo will be changed to Shun Mizushino. The film’s setting also changes from Seoul to Tokyo.
