Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 4 was great and did what we expected it to DO. Let's see how the 4th episode plays out in detail.
Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 3 Recap
Today's episode starts off in a relaxed mood as we dive into the training circle led by former Hashira, Usui. The trainees quickly realized that training Usui was not easy. Ruthless and demanding, he pushes them to the limit with a regimen that focuses on building their core strength. They endure long runs up mountains, climb steep cliffs, and are force-fed by Usui after grueling training. Supporting him are his three wives, who prepare all the food for the practitioners.
Tanjiro joins the training after his recovery, bringing with him his signature positivity and energy, helping to lift the spirits of everyone present. Interestingly, Inosuke and Zenitsu were absent from this training session, suggesting they may be training elsewhere. The first half of the episode is relatively peaceful, as Obanai notes that it feels like the calm before the storm.
Towards the end, the episode drops a few important hints that will likely play an important role later on. We also see Usui back in action, showing off his formidable skills and raising questions about whether he really needs to stay out of retirement. His strength far exceeds that of a standard demon hunter, and even Tanjiro and the other students are no match for him, indicating their need for further training.
Review and recap of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 4
We have another training episode focusing on Tajiro's journey from one Hashira to another. This time Tokito finds himself. Immediately, even Tanjiro is shocked to learn that Tokito has treated his students with blunt and cruel comments, and given them a reality check about their lack of talent.
But this cruel behavior immediately changes when Tokito sees Tanjiro, who has now become his friend after fighting together in the swordsmithing village. Thus, the experience that Tanjiro has is very different from others, not only because they know each other but also because Tanjiro has natural talent. After just a few days, Tanjiro had mastered the basics and made the technique his own.
This arc is what makes up the bulk of the first episode and honestly, they dragged things out when they didn't need to. We get some really cool and beautiful fight scenes, especially when Tokito fights Sanemi and Obanai. But other than that, this is a gentle and uneventful segment.
It looks like we'll see Tanjiro training with each individual Hashira in each episode. I'm not really complaining because we're getting more dialogue and scenes, but I want to get to the final war part because we've waited long enough.
But yes, it was nice to see Tokito again, and that smiled too. He's matured considerably as a person since we last saw him, and it's fun to see him act his age with Tanjiro. Tanjiro even creates a situation to gain more friends for Tokito at the end.
Identify
Overall, I liked this episode, but I also agree that it wasn't anything too special for us. Obviously you'll love this, but you'll also feel like they're slowing down the pace too much. Things could have easily carried over to the next segment here and the previous episode, but they're delaying everything to finish this part in training, which is a bit disappointing.
