After an epic supernatural ordeal with Turbo Granny, Ken and Momo return to school. When he saw her waiting at the gate, his insecurity surfaced and he decided to ignore her, assuming she was waiting for someone else. Thankfully, Momo quickly dispelled that notion by squeezing herself next to Ken and talking directly into his ear until they had to part ways for the bell.
The first few rounds that followed were like torture for both of them, as Ken eagerly apologized for being so cold earlier, while Momo just wanted to get back to Okarun as soon as possible so they could talk more. Ken ignores the bullying he receives, saying he can forgive them all because he has a lovely new friend, but he also worries he will lose her at any moment.
When the bell rings for lunch, Ken and Momo go looking for each other and it's a typical case of many missed connections and terrible time until both are defeated, they try to occupy the same three-dimensional space and finally have to grit our teeth.
It looks for the world like an (accidental) kiss and might as well be if you ask Momo's two friends. When they see the two happily bickering, it confirms that they are very compatible and are now an item.
Rumors of Momo kissing someone during lunch quickly spread and her table was surrounded by all the girls in school. Her class wanted to know the details, didn't want to listen when she said It wasn't like that. When Ken burst into the classroom with a head full of steam and an…interesting pose, imitating his balls, Momo wasn't ready to face him right then and stubbornly told him to get angry.
This behavior only strengthens Ken's belief that he is not worthy of Momo as a friend, even though they talked a lot that morning. Distracted, he runs into a beautiful girl with pink hair, who apologizes sweetly and is also very sensitive and flirtatious, telling him that she is a kind person. Momo happened to witness this exchange and wondered why Ken, who said he had no other friends, was so close to a cute girl.
Then things happened after the girl, Aira, separated herself from Ken. Seiyu Sakura Ayane is so sweet that she arrogantly tells her friends that it's nice to have “trash” fall in love with her, and it's also beneficial for said trash, since he'll never get one. Cute girls talk or touch.
Momo, clearly proving that she is Ken's friend, drops a monstrous bathtub right on top of Aira's head, then clings to Ken and says that they should go home together, and very loudly declares “some girl [ngu ngốc] would rather have a sink fall on her head than boys who have a crush on her.” Pure and righteous poetry.
On the way home, Momo apologizes to Okarun, assuring him that she is not embarrassed to talk to him around other people, but is suddenly flustered after their kiss in the yard. Ken tells her he's glad they can make up, but then tells her what he tried to do when she sent him away: his balls are gone.
The fact that he told her this made her laugh out loud.
staying at her house (even running in circles towards her on the mat) is a thing of beauty and perfect comedic timing. Seiko tells Ken that he should have let her check on him sooner and wonders how the hell he only realized now that his balls are gone.
Upon close inspection, Seiko determined that there was still a strange aura lurking inside Ken, and used a paper fan (like a sink, another classic Japanese comedy prop) to disturb that aura so Momo can capture it with her psychokinesis skills. At first she thought it had escaped when she could no longer feel it, but the aura transferred to the white maneki-neko doll that Seiko told Momo to prepare.
The cat takes off, but Momo uses her powers to locate and restrain it, and they learn it is the remains of Turbo Granny, who transformed herself into a spirit just before the fire could burn her. destroy her. When Granny tells them that she has all the power here and orders Ken to kill Momo and Seiko, Ken suddenly transforms into an Okarun/Turbo Granny variant.
It turns out that only Turbo Granny's consciousness went into the doll, while all her powers remained in Ken, who released them when he got annoyed enough. Playing the role of peacemaker, Momo promises to return Granny's powers to her if she returns Okarun's ball. She agrees, but there's a problem: she doesn't have his balls anymore; she lost them “somewhere.”
So a search must take place: the search for Okarun's lost balls. Perhaps Ken will take advantage of the powers he inherited from Turbo Granny in that quest, in addition to Momo and Seiko's abilities. And since she was so prominent in the OP, Aira will definitely play a bigger role in this show soon.
Until then, this episode proves, as if beyond any doubt, that Dandadan has what it takes to develop into a sweet and engaging romantic comedy without any weak points. any supernatural elements (except the ability to lift the sink.) Ken and Momo are such a cute and dynamic couple that it's impossible to take your eyes off them.
