The anime series is based on the light novel series written by Hisaya Amagishi and illustrated by Kei, which was first published under Kadokawa's MF Books label on October 25, 2018. The story first began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on April 1, 2018. Ten volumes have been released as of June 2024, along with a short story collection.
