CoMix Wave Films also announced that it has formed a capital alliance with anime art company Bihou, Inc. Bihou made a third-party share allocation and CoMix Wave Films accepted. Kawaguchi will join Bihou management as a part-time director.
CoMix Wave Films was founded in 2007 when then-chief Kawaguchi spun off and acquired CoMix Waves' (formerly CW) animation business as part of a management buyout (MBO). . In addition to animation production, the company also handles planning, financing, distribution and rights management. Kawaguchi has served as the company's representative director and president since its founding, and this is the first time the company has changed its president.
Tokunaga joined Telecom Animation Film in 2014 and has served as executive producer since 2017. Tokunaga moved to CoMix Wave Films and served as executive producer in 2020.
