It’s always fun, isn’t it? Author Kenji Miyazawa has written some very bittersweet stories, so it makes sense that Detective Kenji hides a tragic past beneath his happy-go-lucky exterior. It also makes sense that it also affects the next level of his Abilities. When Tetchou mentioned that Atsushi would be tortured (and might not survive), it prompted Kenji’s transformation. What we’ve seen him do before is just the tip of the iceberg because when Kenji needs to save someone he considers a friend, all bets are off. Again, this makes sense given Miyazawa’s real-life works, which often feature friendship as a key thematic element. If he wants to save the people he cares about, Kenji can do anything.
What’s interesting is that his heart is big enough to understand when someone is being hurt, even if he is the one causing the physical pain. His battle with Tetchou was fierce, but it came to an end when he realized that Tetchou was only worried about his friend Jouno. Kenji has never gone so far that he can’t stop when he wants to, and that’s probably a greater strength than any other character we’ve seen in this series. Kenji doesn’t lose himself; he allows himself to act no matter what. Since we’ve seen many others fail to make that distinction (which is certainly part of the reason why Dazai and Chuuya teamed up), it makes Kenji stand out even more as someone who’s always been overlooked. underestimate.
Speaking of Chuuya and not understanding his own feelings, oh how cruel Dazai almost drowned him. We know that Dazai is definitely lying when he says he can’t think of any good memories with the other man, but unlike Kenji, Dazai needs to believe that he’s emotionless. That’s another of Odasaku’s legacy to his friend, the understanding that caring hurts, and Dazai is trying his best to appear uncaring. That would make him too human for comfort; it’s much safer to hide behind a careless smile and a surly attitude. But the way his voice actor delivers “goodbye” before Chuuya’s hat floats to the surface is still at least a little painful. Whether he wants to admit it or not, Dazai cannot hide behind the safety of his Quirk, which, as its name suggests, allows him to pretend that he is no longer human and can neutralize anything.
Vampires However, the Mafia is really a problem. Chuuya may have been eliminated from the game, but Akutagawa is still a force to be reckoned with, and him using his claws on Aya and Bra-chan is not good. Aya suggested taking the sword away from Bra-chan, which actually seemed like the best plan: as long as Fukuchi had the necessary signs to control it, taking the sword back would erase Bra-chan’s control. him towards Bra-chan. The vampire is talking a big game about rising and destroying the world, but we’ve already seen that he will stand up (so to speak) for Aya. She’s a lucky girl, so it’s no surprise that she would tear that monster apart immediately, believing that whatever Bra-chan does is better than dying at the hands of the undead. by Akutagawa. Someone has to take control of this bloodsucking situation, and with Atsushi tied to a table and Sigma trying to hide the purported mystery that is Dazai, saving the world may just fall to Aya.
