Review of episode 6 of Blue Box: The 6th episode of Blue Box or Ao no Hako (アオのハコ) is exciting but also sad. Let's see how this episode plays out.
Blue Box episode 5 summary
This episode begins with Taiki's narrow victory, successfully preventing Kishi from getting Chinatsu's number. Although Kishi vows to come back stronger for the rematch, for now, he is out of the picture, leaving the connection between Taiki and Chinatsu uninterrupted. What Taiki didn't anticipate, however, was Chinatsu's sudden, spontaneous invitation to a date at the aquarium right after his victory.
This invitation made Taiki both nervous and completely confused. How could he date the person he loves without even realizing it? His loyal friend Kyo deserves credit for being an excellent supporter, while Hina, another friend, excitedly teases him about his “first date.” However, when Hina meets her friends again, they notice she seems unusually sad, which further solidifies her growing feelings for Taiki.
Hina may love him but may not be seriously considering it because of their long-standing friendship. Now that Taiki is pursuing someone else, her awareness of her emotions is deepening. It remains to be seen whether she will remain a supportive friend, able to let go of her emotions, or will become an obstacle in Taiki and Chinatsu's budding relationship.
The highlight of the episode was Taiki's careful preparations for the date, which turned out to be a truly special experience for him. Throughout the outing, he is conscious of Chinatsu's presence, which shows how much he loves and appreciates her concern. While he may not have fully grasped it, there are subtle signs that Chinatsu really feels attracted to him as well.
Blue Box Review and summary of episode 6
Today's episode mostly revolves around Hina. Previously, we saw her uncover Chinatsu and Taiki's little secret. You might think she would leave them be, but she does something completely opposite. She actually confronts them directly about their living situation. With no way out, Taiki finally gave in and told her why Chinatsu was living with him. For keeping such an important thing hidden, Hina clearly did not forgive Taiki and even forced him to weigh comic books on her lap.
However, Hina now knows that her friend is closer to his beloved than ever.
she tries her best to bring him happiness. Sadly, this is where the problem starts. Hina always sees Taiki as her precious friend, someone she can joke with and be herself with. Maybe that's why she never really understood that she loved him. So when Taiki likes someone else, Hina finally realizes her own predicament.
We see her struggling with this notion and being mentally affected by it. She is a star athlete and easily one of the top contenders in gymnastics in the country. In such an important position, Hina started to mix up her routine and mess up her training. Taiki sees all this but doesn't know what's going on. He thought she was just stressed from training, but we knew the problem was deeper than that.
But that's not all, the whole thing is actually a very messy love triangle that we'll have to sit back and endure. Not only us, even Kyo knows about Hina's feelings, and it seems like he just wants to observe for now.
Decision
Today's episode is profound and humorous but also signals that the film will be released in the future. You will definitely be torn between Chinatsu and Hina as the one competing for Taiki's affection.
