The Meta-owned Threads social media app, formerly known as P92 or Barcelona, has impressed and reached a large number of users within a short time of its official launch. Millions of people are busy exploring every nook and cranny of Threads and sharing their experiences across different platforms.
In general, the majority of comments agree that Threads for the user experience is quite similar to Twitter. You can share your thoughts as topics, like and comment on topics posted by others, and repost them with or without quotes. While Threads currently offers an ad-free experience, the social network lacks some of the commonly used features found on its own rival Twitter and many popular social media apps. other.
Can’t bookmark or save posts to view later
In Meta’s own words, Threads is an Instagram subcomponent for text-based chats. But the platform doesn’t allow users to save topics that appear in their feed for later viewing.
The ability to save posts for later use is available on popular social networking apps like Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook. But not with Threads.
Can’t search for anything but username
Tapping the lens icon in the Threads app allows you to use the search feature. But unlike Twitter, where the search bar will display a bunch of topics, the search tab on Threads is currently limited to the list of accounts you can follow.
Typing a query in the search bar shows only a list of user accounts that best match the keywords you enter. The Threads app doesn’t seem to include an Explore section, although the functionality is available on the Instagram parent app.
You cannot directly delete your Threads profile
As a byproduct of Instagram, you can start using the Threads app after logging in with your existing Instagram account.
However, once created, the Threads profile cannot be deleted independently. In other words, your Threads account is tied to your Instagram account. To delete Threads will have to delete Instagram. Even so, you can still temporarily disable the Threads account if you want.
Can’t send direct message
You won’t be able to send messages to accounts you follow on Threads. It seems that the only way to interact with others is through comments. Also, the only place where you can discover new content on the Threads app is the Home tab.
