Hachette Business Chief Development Officer Russell Evans released the following statement:
We are all delighted and delighted to welcome Yen Press to the Hachette family with sales and distribution services in the UK, India, Australia and New Zealand. We're honored to be working with Yen Press at Hachette Book Group US, so the inclusion of these additional territories makes this a truly global partnership.
Kurt Hassler, Publisher and CEO of Yen Press, added:
Yen Press began as a subsidiary of HBGUS and has benefited significantly from their exceptional sales and distribution services since transitioning to a customer service relationship. We're excited to expand this partnership working with Hachette UK, India, Australia and New Zealand, and look forward to together increasing the popularity of manga, light novels and manhwa in global level.
Yen Press is the latest publisher to join Hachette UK as part of the company's third-party expansion plans. Digital novel publisher J-Novel Club also announced a distribution agreement with Hachette Book Group in early March.
Other notable publishers that have established partnerships with Hachette UK include Profile Books in 2021, Elsevier in 2022; Flame Tree Publishing and British Library Publishing in 2023, Pinnacle Books and Lonely Planet, which previously joined in 2024. Hay House and Bloomsbury Publishing will join Hachette UK in early 2025.
