Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 6 Overview
Urusei Yatsura returns to breathe new life into the “boy meets extraordinary girl” genre. This anime masterpiece combines elements of comedy, romance and science fiction, enriched with countless funny jokes.
Once again, the series boasts a trio of talented directors at the helm. Among them is Takahashi Hideya, famous for his contributions to Sword Art Online, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, To LOVE-Ru, and more. Other directors include Kamei Takahiro, known for his work on Enen no Shouboutai, Captain Tsubasa (2018) and others, as well as Kimura Yasuhiro, who lent his expertise to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic mine.
Episode 6 of Urusei Yatsura Part 2 can also be called the 6th episode of うる星やつら第2期.
I’ve tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I have to cover in order to give a proper response.

Review and recap of Episode 6 of Urusei Yatsura Part 2 – Kotatsu Lover
Today’s episode gave me mixed feelings, because the first half was not at all like the second half. The first half of this episode begins with the Moroboshi family’s big cat, who seems to really like the kotatsu table. Not only that, he even got his hands on a vintage piece that he bought at a very reasonable price from an antique store. But the problem is that this kotatsu is very special, because it does not allow anyone to put a blanket on top. Therefore, this section only deals with the cat trying his best to cover the enchanted table with a blanket.
This segment doesn’t have much to offer in terms of plot, as it’s nothing more than a cat chasing a table. Plus, it occasionally shows some random moments that try to be funny but fail. Ataru and Lum also take a back seat here and they act as supporting characters. Even the ending of this story feels like it goes nowhere and it feels like a filler episode.
The second paragraph, although quite random in itself, still has more to offer. It starts out funny because we see Lum and Ataru go to a pet store and discover a famous cow with a bad reputation. It seems it bit its previous owner and even bit Lum and Ataru. But things start to go wrong for Lum when she grows horns like a cow.
So are you turning into a cow? Well, I can’t reveal the answer, but one thing is clear: Ataru definitely loves her more than anything. When he discovered her dire condition, he was not at all relieved that she was leaving him. No, he became desperate to keep Lum by his side at any cost.
This arc really shows how much Ataru has accepted Lum in his life, despite his best efforts. It’s best to deny his feelings many times. He rarely breaks character, but we see that he truly cares for her when he shows his true self. And the best part is that even Lum knows about it.
Identify
This episode was pretty good; while the first part wasn’t very interesting, the second part more than made up for it. They also have an extra scene that appears after the ending. Here, we see how difficult it is to be the teacher of someone as rich and powerful as Mendo. This part is also moderately entertaining.
