From King Piccolo to Kid Buu, the series is filled with iconic villains, leaving fans waiting to see what happens. However, no villain can finish off Kakarot, except for one Dragon Ball Super.
Akira Toriyama's inspiration for the coolest villain who almost took Goku's life in Dragon Ball Super
The person we are talking about is Goku Black, core villain Coolest ever to attend in Dragon Ball Super. Chinh Zamasu – who stole Kakarot's body using a wish with the Super Divine Dragon. However, having a similar appearance is not what makes this character iconic.
But it was his wit, meticulousness, and ability to overwhelm Kakarot with his technique that made him cooler in the hearts of fans. However, you will be surprised to know how Akira Toriyama found the inspiration for that villain.
In an interview with the legendary mangaka, Toyotaro-san and Toriyama-Sensei talked about everything related to the future Trunks arc.
Toyotaro -san shared that in arc Future Trunks, the villains had a “huge impact” on making the story interesting and adding to its popularity. The creator was also asked about the inspiration behind the iconic villain. Akira Toriyama replied that he was inspired by “False Ultra Man” or “False Kamen Rider” and wanted to do the same for the series.
“It's something I want to try just once. Something like False Ultra Man or False Kamen Rider. Yes! I want to play 'fake Son Goku' (laughs).”the author said.
Toyataro-san added: “Goku Black is a good name” and the mangaka joked: “Well, it's like Kamen Rider Black (laughs).” However, this character is immortal and iconic, because he was almost take life okay Kakarot.
Toyotaro-San improved the Future Trunks arc by changing Zamasu's personality
In the same interview, the interviewer asked Toyotaro-san if he decided to make any changes to the original draft of Future Trunks Saga shared by Toriyama-Sensei. The author replied that the sketch had some changes because Zamasu is not as strong a character as we saw in the anime.
Toyotaro-san said: “Zamasu is actually not as strong a character as in the original sketch I received from Toriyama-sensei. Although he is immortal, his power is only so strong that two Super Saiyan Blue are more than enough to take him down. It was because of this that in the original draft things happened that led to his “immortality”. and “limiting the Potara earring fusion time” became the key. Goku and Vegeta take turns fighting him.”
In spite of Zamasu has immortality and the Super Saiyan Rosé status, but just two SSJ Blues will take him down easily. To fix this problem, Toyotaro improvised and made changes in the arc to balance the fight.
He revealed: “Goku and Vegeta did not fuse in the original draft. Their personalities made any fusion after the Majin Buu arc impossible. However, I wanted to meet the readers' expectations… And so, I created a scenario where even if they didn't want to, there was absolutely no choice but to merge.”
