Warner Bros. Pictures began streaming on Friday a preview of the theme song “The Rider” from the animated film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, which was revealed to be performed by Paris Paloma. Phoebe Gittins and David Long wrote the song.

The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim is Kenji Kamiyama's latest feature film. The film opens in US theaters on December 13 and begins showing worldwide on December 11.
New Line Cinema describes the film:
Set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” tells the fate of House Helm Hammerhand, the legendary kings of Rohan. A surprise attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking revenge for his father's death, forces Helm and his people to make a last stand in the ancient stronghold of Hornburg— a mighty fortress that would later be known as Helm's Deep. Finding herself in an increasingly desperate situation, Helm's daughter Héra must muster all her will to lead the resistance against a dangerous enemy intent on their utter destruction.
Brian Cox plays Helm Hammerhand, King of Rohan and the main character. Gaia Wise plays Hera, Helm's daughter. Luke Pasqualino plays Wulf, lord of Dunlending. Miranda Otto reprises her role from the original film as Éowyn, Shieldmaiden of Rohan, and she also serves as the narrator. The cast also includes Lorraine Ashbourne, Yazdan Qafouri, Benjamin Wainwright, Laurence Ubong Williams, Shaun Dooley, Michael Wildman, Jude Akuwudike, Bilal Hasna and Janine Duvitski.
Philippa Boyens, a member of the writing team on the live-action The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies and consultant on The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim, revealed that the upcoming film will uses the voice of the late Sir Christopher Lee for the character Saruman in the original live-action film.

The film will open in Japan on December 27. Masachika Ichimura plays Helm Hammerhand in the Japanese dub. Fūka Koshiba voices Héra. Kenjirō Tsuda plays Wulf. Takako Honda voices Olwin (Unofficial Romanization of the character), Héra's companion and support. Manabu Muraji plays Orc Lot (Unofficial Romanization of the character). Hayato Taya voices the Reef Keeper (Unofficial Romanization of the character).
Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Sam Register, Carolyn Blackwood and Toby Emmerich are serving as executive producers on the film. Jackson directed and co-wrote the previous live-action trilogy for the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit stories, and Walsh co-wrote the scripts for those films.
Joseph Chou (Blade Runner: Black Lotus TV series) is producing. Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance), Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou will write the script, based on the story by Addiss and Matthews.
Jason DeMarco — senior vice president of Adult Swim and head of anime and action, and senior vice president of anime and action/series at Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios — is the producer of the film and he has confirmed that the film is in 2D.'
