Godzilla officially produces a new film, directed by Takashi Yamazaki. Following the success of Godzilla Minus One, Yamazaki will once again look to make a splash with the massive franchise as writer, director and VFX supervisor. You can watch the announcement video below.

Yamazaki is one of the leading figures in the Japanese film industry and he has participated in many film adaptations of famous titles. Some of his works include Always: Sunset on Third Street (2005), The Eternal Zero (2013), Stand by Me Doremon (2014), Parasyte (2014–2015), and Lupine III: The First (2019).
He also directed Godzilla Minus One, which opened in Japanese theaters in November 2023 and became one of the most successful films in the 70-year-old franchise. For their work on the film, Yamazaki and his team were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, which they eventually won.
The Godzilla franchise also released an anime titled Godzilla: Singular Point in 2021. Netflix is streaming both the anime and the Godzilla Minus One movie.
Godzilla began in 1954, with 38 films released over the following 70 years to date. They also recently revealed a special video to commemorate the anniversary.
