The Beginning After the End illustrator will no longer create artwork for the series.
As detailed on Redbeanime, Fuyuki23, who has been providing the illustrations for TurtleMe’s popular online novel since its launch, will end a collaboration with the work’s author. The artist detailed his reasons for leaving in a lengthy Instagram post, explaining that “the platform that paid us suddenly wanted to change its payment structure, which we believe is no longer working.” equals and makes us feel undervalued.” Fuyuki23 also said that the decision to leave left them “heartbroken”, as working on the series had “changed their lives.”

Originally published in January 2017, The Beginning After the End is a sword and magic style isekai chronicling the adventures of a king named King Grey. Coming from a land where martial abilities were comparable, the king was reincarnated into a whole new world and given another chance to live his life. The accompanying webcomic was in the “pre-production” stage of Season 6 when Fuyuki23 and her producer, Kisai Entertainment, had to abruptly announce their departure from the project. “What happened with the deal was a huge disappointment… I was excited to work on pre-production, fully confident that this will be TBATE’s best season yet with plenty of action and plot twists and turns. darker story, but unfortunately, that would just be my wish.”
With a total of over 27 million views and 444,000 subscribers, The Beginning After the End is one of the most popular isekai series on Tapas, an online platform dedicated to manga and prose. As of now, neither Tapas nor TurtleMe have publicly mentioned Fuyuki’s departure or announced a new artist for the series. While Fuyuki23 was not happy about leaving TBATE, they stated that they would continue to follow the series as a reader. As for their future projects, the artist said that they will continue to work with Kisai Entertainment on other “action fantasy” stories.
“I am delighted to announce that I will continue to work with my producer, Kisai Entertainment,” said Fuyuki23. “Maybe not in the near future, but I sincerely hope that everyone will support me. It’s going to be an epic adventure as I’m actively involved in the story’s development, aiming to deliver the best action fantasy to all of you!”
