About Sailor Moon Universe
Adapting the “Shadow Galactica” storyline from Naoko Takeuchi’s iconic shojo manga and acting as the epilogue to the Sailor Moon Crystal reboot, the Sailor Moon Universe duo shows it all. The Sailor Guardians rally to defeat Sailor Galaxia and her minions, protecting the universe from their evil once and for all. Fans were given a glimpse of the film’s charming villains in one of the many trailers. The promotional video showcased the villains’ fashion transformations and confirmed the voice actors for the characters; Sena Koizumi (Baki) brings Sailor Iron Mouse to life alongside Ayumu Murase (The Case Study of Vanitas) as Sailor Aluminum Siren, Haruka Kudō (Bungo Stray Dogs) as Sailor Heavy Metal Papillion, Yōko Hikasa (Berserk) as Sailor Lead Crow and Mariya Ise (Fairy Tail) as Sailor Tin Nyanko. Shiori Mikami (Attack on Titan) voices Sailor Lethe and Kanae Itō (God Eater) as Sailor Mnemosyne, while Yuka Komatsu (Haikyu!!) and Fumie Mizusawa (World Trigger) play Sailor Chi and Phi Sailor.
Sailor Moon Universe also introduces Sailor Starlight – a trio of intergalactic female warriors who travel to Earth after Sailor Galaxia destroys their home world. To hide their identities, the three disguised themselves as a famous boy band. Saori Hayami (Spy x Family) voices Taiki Kou/Sailor Star Maker, with Marina Inoue (The Seven Deadly Sins) voicing Seiya Kou/Sailor Star Fighter and Ayane Sakura (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story) voicing voice for Yaten Kou/Sailor Healing Star.
Sailor Moon Magic Collection
Tamashii Nations isn’t the only production company using the excitement for new movies to profit. Notably, Namco has filled its crane games and other attractions in its affiliated palaces with numerous Sailor Moon Cosmose collectibles. The collection features keychains, acrylic stand, cushions, shopping bags and stickers.
Fans of Takeuchi’s story also create their own Sailor Moon content, especially cosplay, and continue to celebrate the series. For example, Tauride Cosplay shared images of their elegant Sailor Neptune, and RhianneMan posted photos of their adorable interpretation of Sailor Venus.
Sailor Moon Universe Part 2 premieres in Japan on June 30.
