Only buyers with more than 30 hours logged into their Japanese PS account before the announcement will be able to pre-order the special edition console
In December 1994, the most unlikely company entered the video game market: Sony with the first PlayStation console. This system popularized the use of discs instead of cartridges and achieved great success. Now, 30 years later, Sony is releasing a special 30th anniversary PlayStation 5 Pro in the original PlayStation color scheme. To prevent speculation, Sony is taking some special measures in Japan.

PlayStation's official X (formerly Twitter) account announced pre-orders for the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation 5 Pro on September 30. The PlayStation blog and website detail separate rules for pre-ordering. front row. Those wishing to purchase the game system must have a Sony account registered in Japan, and that account must have a total log-in time (on PS5, PlayStation 4, or both) of at least 30 hours from Saturday, the 22nd February 2014 to Thursday, September 19, 2024.
It is unclear whether this is a precautionary measure by Sony to limit access to the system by scalpers. However, because pre-ordering is lottery-based in Japan and limits are imposed on pre-ordering, the above measures may discourage scalpers from purchasing more than one system.
