Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 was announced after the last episode of the anime today and the sequel will air in 2 consecutive episodes starting October 2024. The anime just finished airing the 2nd consecutive episode of the season 1, also started in October (just last year). You can see the part 2 announcement illustration below.

The original manga series by Ryosuke Fuji (art) and Katarina (story) has been serialized on the novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro since May 2017. The manga adaptation is published in Weekly Magazine Shonen by Kodansha and is also licensed in English. They describe the story:
Second-year high school student Rakuro Hizutome only cares about one thing: finding “bad games” and beating them. His gaming skills are second to none and no game is too bad for him to enjoy. So when he's introduced to the new VR game Shangri-La Frontier, he does what he does best—the bare minimum and skips the prologue to get straight to the action.
